Jammu, June 17:

Prime  Minister Narendra Modi has convened an all party meeting on Friday to discuss the situation in eastern Ladakh , against what seems to be the downturn it had taken in the Galwan valley on Monday in which India lost a Colonel and 19 other soldiers.

In a tweet  on Wednesday , the PMO said : “

In order to discuss the situation in the India-China border areas, Prime Minister

@narendramodi

has called for an all-party meeting at 5 PM on 19th June.”

“ Presidents of various political parties would take part in this virtual meeting,”it said.

This will  be the first direct discussion between PM and other political groups in the country on the Ladakh stand-off that has worried the countrymen and increased their anxiety after the Galwan clases where soldiers of China and India suffered casualties.

It is understood that PM would place the situation before the political groups and seek their suggestions how to resolve the conflict-like situation without compromising India’s sovereignty and integrity.
