Palli, Samba, April 24:

“Mithadi ae Dogra di boli, khand mithe lok Dogre “- Dogras speak sweet language and they themselves as sweet as sugar itself- PM Modi spoke these two lines from a Dogri folk song to connect with thousands of people here on the occasion of the celebration of national panchyati raj divas, but more that he spoke about their hard work and entrepreneurship to hail them as pioneers in setting examples of excellence.

Modi lived up to his reputation as a global leader who instantly connects with the masses anywhere in the world.

Coming as it did, during his first visit to J&K after the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, gave a detailed account of the changes that the place has witnessed in the past two to three years. As he walked through the devepmental story of J&K in the post- abrogation of Article 370, he also played on the theme of expanding development and the promise J&K holds to become an example for the rest of the country.

The development story is a work in progress.

At the same time, he chose to ask youth of the Kashmir Valley to trust him that he would give them conditions and future different from the saga of miserable conditions that their parents and grandparents had to suffer from because of the situation of their times.

Of course, he referred to the connectivity projects that will connect Vaishno Devi shrine to Kanyakumari shrine with a single road. “We believe in bridging distances of hearts through connectivity”, PM said while reinforcing his vision of a progressive India, where all have opportunities and can avail the same.

The changes in J&K since abrogation of Article 370 has not only brought development but also undone injustice that certain classes in J&K suffered before the constitutional changes . He said those shackles have gone forever and now they are breathing fresh year of freedom of being perfect citizen of the country like all others and be partners in their development as also the nation building .

PM has left a profound message of progress and prosperity for the people of J&K.

There were many compliments for Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha whose hard work transformed J&K and brought it to a springboard where from it can take  giant steps to achieve new heights.
