Why did Prime Minister Narendra Modi praise Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha so profusely and hailed him as “ unique jewel “ while addressing an election rally in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday. It is because Sinha embodies the accolades that Prime Minister showered on him .
One, of course, the Prime Minister referred to him as son of the soil of Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh as “ unique jewel”, as Sinha has strengthened the idea of the Indian nation far and beyond the boundaries of his native state , particularly since his assignment as the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir in August 2020.
PM used the most appropriate term for him when he said, “Gazipur has given a unique jewel to us in form of Manoj Sinha, who is handling the crown of the nation- Jammu and Kashmir” This is the greatest honour that Prime Minister has given to anyone in the country and during all his election rallies not only in Uttar Pradesh but also in other parts of the country. Never before he named a Governor or L G for such honours.
Sinha since his assumption of the office in Jammu and Kashmir has brought a change in the mood of the people , he studied, analysed their issues and then went on tirelessly to address their grievances. Today’s J&K is much different, vibrant and forward -looking than ever before .
Sinha had one mantra – to be friends with the people , listen to them and then find answers to their problems under the constitution of India . For him the Constitution is supreme , and that’s why he worked hard in furthering the tasks as constitutional authority . His task was difficult , he knew that there were forces within J&K , having their mentors across the border, out and out to challenge the constitutional values after the abolition of Article 370 on August 5, 2019 .
The political narrative is changing as the people have realised in J&K that they were cocooned in a narrow world, while the world outside of their landlocked mentality is much bigger, brighter and full of opportunities . Sinha did a miracle , he bought the world of opportunities to the doorsteps of the people in J&K, by getting investment, new projects in infrastructure, real estate, industries and health sectors . His effort have made the people to see how benevolent and high is the Indian nation . The tools of conversation , translated into the real-time development , has emotionally integrated J&K into the Indian nation.
Jammu and Kashmir, as erstwhile state or today’s Union territory , is in wider attention everywhere and Sinha knows this from the day one he landed in Kashmir on August 6, 2020, a day before he took over LG Sinha .
