Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the eve of his visit to Jammu and Kashmir voiced his eagnerness for the visit, his first since abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019.


PM is visiting Palli village in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow- Sunday, April 24. He will be addressing panchayats spread across the country on Rashtriya Panchayat Raj Divas, a first of its kind in J&K, where LG Manoj Sinha’s administration has striven hard to give wings to three- tier panchayati raj system.


In a series of tweets PM said that he is eager to visit J&K where he will address panchayat said ; “Tomorrow, 24th April, we will mark the National Panchayati Raj Day. On this important occasion, I will be in Jammu and Kashmir and from there will address Gram Sabhas across India. Will also lay the foundation stone and inaugurate development works worth over Rs. 20,000 crore.”


The works being inaugurated include the Banihal Qazigund Road Tunnel which is a landmark infra project aimed at ensuring all weather connectivity between the Jammu and Kashmir regions. Jan Aushadi Kendras spread across J&K will also be inaugurated.


He said that a 500 KW solar power plant at Palli will be inaugurated. SVAMITVA cards will also be handed to various beneficiaries. “
