Prime Minister Narendra Modi is paying special attention to Jammu and Kashmir to help the Union Territory overcome the pandemic of the corona virus showing his concern for the people and their needs .
Ever since the second wave of the corona virus struck Jammu and Kashmir, like rest of the country, Prime Minister has taken extraordinary steps to meet the requirement of health infrastructure and facilities to help the Union Territory administration in meeting the challenges posed by the pandemic.


On May 17, seven large Oxygen generation plants were airlifted straight from Germany to Srinagar to meet the enhanced demand because of the spike in Covid-19 positive cases . The demand was amplified by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Prime Minister took no time in arranging the much-needed supply of oxygen to the Union Territory .


Prime Minister while taking care of the people of the whole of the nation suffering from the pandemic has made all out efforts to arrange things to every nook and corner of the country . He has been a symbol and icon of strength for the countrymen as he boosted their morale by saying that ultimately India is destined to win this war against Corona . At the same time , he was aware of the distant geographic location of J&K and the greater need of the people in these times .
LG Sinha was prompt in putting forward needs of the UT on the basis of his first-hand assessment of the situation by his visits to hospitals and frequent interaction with the doctors , Deputy Commissioners and others involved in the fight against Corona.
It was due to the Central Government’s pro-active approach that helped J&K get adequate number of vaccine doses and at most of the places the vaccination has been nearly 100 per cent for the people falling in the categories already notified for the vaccination .
It was due to these extraordinary steps taken by Centre that LG expressed his deep gratitude to Prime Minister in meeting requirements of J&K in these tough times.
