Srinagar, September 21:
The Jammu and Kashmir police have held Lashkar-e-Toiba and Hizb-ul-Mujahadeen responsible for the killing of three policemen in captivity in Shopian district of South Kashmir on Friday morning .
A late evening statement issued by the State police said that the “ preliminary investigations revealed complicity of the proscribed terror outfits Hizb-ul-Mujahadeen and Lashkar-e-Toiba in this barbaric act of terror . Further investigations are going on to identify the culprits.”
The statement also said that the “ terrorists this morning abducted three policemen in district Shopian and later killed them in an inhuman act of terror.”
They were identified as Nisar Ahmad Dhobi son of Abdul Rashid resident of Kapren, Shopian, Firdous Kuchay son of Abdul Gani resident of Batagund, Shopian and Kulwant Singh son of Dhoop Singh resident of Batagund, Shopian.
Bodies of all the three jawans were retrieved by police and wreath laying ceremony was held at DPL Shopian. Police has registered a case in this regard.
Meanwhile, in an encounter encounter at Shukbaba area in Sumlar village of Bandipora, security forces today eliminated all the five terrorists. The killed terrorists were affiliated with proscribed terror outfit LeT.
“Apparently they were part of freshly infiltrated group.
Huge quantity of arms, ammunition and incriminating material was recovered from the site of encounter.
Police has registered a case and investigation is going on.`.”
