Srinagar, October 19:
Unidentified militants shot dead a police inspector in the suburbs of Anantnag in south Kashmir on Monday evening , according to officially confirmed reports reaching here.
Inspector Mohammad Ashraf of J&K police was showered with bullets by militants in Kenwalan area in Anantnag district when he was returning home after offering evening prayers at a nearby mosque.
Critically injured Inspector was taken to hospital, but doctors declared him “ brought dead.”
The police have registered a case and started investigations.
