Srinagar, March 26: The Jammu and Kashmir police have raided the residences of three top separatist leaders in Srinagar .
The police conducted extensive raids at multiple locations in Srinagar and Sopore as part of ongoing investigations into cases registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The cases pertain to Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference (Bhat Group), Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (Masrat Alam Group), and Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (Shabir Shah Group).

The searches were conducted in connection with FIR No. 15/2024 (PS Rajbagh), FIR No. 04/2024 (PS Saddar), and FIR No. 03/2024 (PS Shaheed Gunj). Police teams raided the residences of several individuals, including Professor Abdul Gani Bhat at his Sopore and Srinagar residences and the residence of Shabir Ahmad Shah.

The searches were also carried out at seven locations across Srinagar in connection with FIR No. 03/2024, targeting individuals suspected of involvement in unlawful activities. Those whose residences were searched include Masrat Alam Bhat (Zaindar Mohalla, Habba Kadal), Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat alias Gugga (Batmaloo), Ghulam Nabi Wagay (Khanyar), Feroz Ahmad Khan (Khanyar), Mohammad Nazir Khan (Koolipora, Khanyar), Hakeem Abdul Rashid (Botakadal, Lal Bazar), and Javaid Ahmad Munshi alias Bilpapa (Methan, Chanpora).

The raids were conducted after obtaining search warrants from the Special Judge designated under the NIA Act in Srinagar. All searches followed legal procedures and were carried out in the presence of an Executive Magistrate and independent witnesses.
