Srinagar, January 27:

The Jammu and Kashmir police have registered a case against the army  for allegedly firing at a crowd of stone throwing protestors in Gawnopora village in South Kashmir’s  Shopian district on Saturday.

The police registered the case on its own  after two youth Javaid Bhat and another identified as Adil died in the clashes.

An army convoy had come under intense attack of stones by the  youth who were protesting against the killing of  two militants and a civilian on Wednesday .

Meanwhile the Joint Resistance Leadership has given a shutdown call  for tomorrow to protest against the fresh spate of killing.

However, the army’s version is not available immediately. The spokesman Col. Rajesh Kalia said that the army is trying to verify facts.
