Srinagar, February 9: Acting tough against mining mafia, Bandipora police last night raided an illegal mining extraction in Madumati river.
During the raid, police found few vehicles indulging in the illegal mining from the river bed.
Giving details, police said that they have seized one tipper and six tractors which were found in indulging in the illegal mining. “Police was getting regular complaints from people about illegal mining from the river and earlier also vehicles were seized and last night another action was taken,” police said.
Police said that cognizance has been taken under relevant sections of the law and investigation has been started.
