Jammu, Febraury 03: Jammu police have under its operation sanjeevani launched today recovered 26 kgs of poppy straw from a vehicle and arrested two persons.
SSP Jammu, Vivek Gupta informed that a Vehicle 407 bearing registration no. PB-08 BF/5834 , which was on way from Srinagar towards Jammu. The driver of the said vehicle when reached near Suketar Naka point saw Police party conducting checking, stopped the vehicle about 100 feet before the naka and turned the vehicle back towards Katra road.
Police party chased the vehicle and captured the driver at Upper Domail along with his associate who were identified as Driver Hardeep Singh of Dhanal Khurd im Jallandhar and Kamalpreet Singh of Manak Patri in Hoshiarpur.
On search of the said vehicle 04 boxes of Poppy straw weighing app 26 kgs were found concealed among the apple boxes On this instance, a case FIR No. 08/2018 u/s 8/15 NDPS ACT has been registered in this p/s.
The whole operation was conducted by SHO Ajay Singh Chib.
