June 3, 2025 : A proud moment for Imtiyaz Shah of Jambu Zoo, as he was given the Best Employee of the Year award by the Chief Wildlife Warden and PCCF of J&K.
The award was given during the 2nd anniversary celebration of Jambu Zoo. Imtiyaz Shah was praised for his hard work, dedication, and service towards animals and zoo management.
Jambu Zoo, which opened to the public on May 29, 2023, has received over five lakh visitors so far. The anniversary was celebrated with a colourful cultural programme, where school students, artists and NGOs performed Dogri songs, dances, skits, and yoga on the theme of wildlife conservation.
Children also took part in a painting competition and were awarded prizes. Other zoo staff and people who supported the zoo adoption programme were also honoured.
The event showed how Jambu Zoo is growing with the efforts of both staff and the public.
