Stakeholders stand up to safeguard cultural identity of Jammu

In an effort to know the pulse of the people on the seprate status for Jammu , Shiv Sena with the support of various political, social and religious organizations, including intellectuals and social workers jointly launched a “JANMAT Campaign” in a program organised at statue of the last ruler of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, Maharaja Hari Singh, here today.
While addressing the august gathering on the occasion, Shiv Sena President UT J&K, Manish Sahni said that in the prevailing circumstances, restoration of democracy and statehood does not matter for Jammu , we should not forget that Jammu and Kashmir was made a union territory from the state.
Sahni said that efforts are being made to mislead us in the name of giving statehood and restoring the democracy process. Even after the delimitation, nothing special is going to happen in the favour of Jammu division.
Sahni said that to preserve our identity, culture and bright future, we have to unite and raise voice on separate Jammu.
Sahni said that keeping the aforesaid aspects in mind in-depth discussions will continue among the participating organizations after which the public opinion on the demand would be ascertained and after that further strategy and course of action shall be decided.
He informed that a target has been set to take this campaign to one million people across Jammu region through social media, door-to-door campaigning and in order to reach out to the people in every nook and corner. Sahni said he believes the separate status for both the divisions will mutual distance will be bridged.
The leaders and representatives of all the organizations present on the occasion jointly appealed to the public to give full support to the campaign. Sahni appealed to the youth for special cooperation and to make the movement viral.
