Rahul Pandey , IAS ( UP:2014) today took over as Director , Information , J&K, at a time when the narrative of the development of the Union Territory is taking roots under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha .
Pandey is also serving as Additional Secretary in the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat.
The transfer and posting orders issued on February 26 had said: “ Rahul Pandey IAS (UP:2014), awaiting orders of adjustment in the General Administration Department, is posted as Additional Secretary in the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. He shall also hold the charge of Director, Information, J&K, in addition to his own duties, till further orders. “
He succeeds Dr. Sherish Asghar , who has now been posted as Additional Secretary in the department of Information .
Pandey brings with him a wide administrative experience , as he had served in the departments of public interaction ,. He served as Vice Chairman of Varanasi Development Authority – Varanasi is the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Rahul Pandey had also served as Special Secretary of the Public Works Department in Uttar Pradesh and had also held the position of Chief Development Officer , Bahraich .
Soon after assuming his new assignment as Director Information , Rahul Pandey interacted with the officers and staff of the department.
