New Delhi, September 12

Eighty new particular trains might be operational from right now, reservations for which started on Thursday. These trains will run along with the 230 trains already in operation, stated Railway Board Chairman V Okay Yadav.

The Railway Board Chairman, at a media briefing, stated, “Eighty new special trains or 40 pair of trains will start operating from September 12. These will run in addition to the 230 trains already in operation.”

Mr Yadav, who was not too long ago appointed the primary CEO of the Railway Board, stated the railways will monitor all of the trains which can be at the moment in operation to find out which trains have a protracted ready checklist.

“Wherever there is a demand for a particular train, wherever the waiting list is long, we will run a clone train ahead of the actual train, so that passengers can travel,” he stated.

The key think about deciding the 80 new trains was the actual fact that there have been many stations from the place the migrant employees are going again to their office, Mr Yadav stated.

“Many of these trains are running in the reverse direction of the Shramik Special trains. So, they (people) are leaving their homes and going to their workplace.

“We are monitoring the occupancy of trains and can run extra trains as per demand. Among the 230 trains, the occupancy of 12 may be very much less. We are working them, however will scale back the variety of coaches,” he said, adding that the average occupancy in the 230 trains is 80-85 per cent.

Mr Yadav said the Railways is coordinating with the state governments while deciding on the introduction of new trains.

To a question about running trains for exams, Mr Yadav said, “We will run trains each time there’s a request from state governments for exams and different such functions.”
