Months before the much anticipated Assembly elections in J&K, Rajiv Kumar has been appointed as new Chief Election Commissioner of India. He will assume his charge on May 15th.
He succeeds Sushil Chandra who was holding the post since April 2019z
Law Minister Kirren Rajju informed through a tweet that President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed Rajov Kumar as the new CEC.
