Srinagar, October 27 : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is arriving in Srinagar on Thursday to take part in infantry day celebrations being organised by the army.
It may be recalled that it was on this day that Indian army troops had landed in Srinagar in October 1947 to push back the tribal raiders sent by Pakistan . The Indian Army had successfully evicted Pakistani invaders from Jammu and Kashmir .
Rajnath Singh will be leaving for Leh on a two- day visit of Ladakh to assess the situation along the LAC , where a tense stand-off is going on with the Chinese troops since April 2020.
