“BJP should go to people with its achievements of last five years and respond to people’s questions on employment, poverty and mess in agriculture sector”

Jammu, March 29:

Senior National Conference (NC) leader and Jammu Province president Davinder Singh Rana on Friday lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi who had blamed the party for militancy in Kashmir.

Calling the PM Modi as an “ill-informed person”, Rana said that the NC had played a very important role in integration of Jammu and Kashmir with rest of the country. “NC made several sacrifices during militancy period in the state. Thousands of its leaders and workers were killed during militancy but NC never deviated from its core nationalist approach,” Rana told the reporters in Kathua.

His comments came a day after Modi said that the political parties in Jammu and Kashmir including NC was responsible for problems and militancy in the state.

Rana said that Prime Minister must have at least kept this in mind that it was NC always that kept the tri-colour high in the trouble-torn state.

He said when Maharaja Hari Singh signed the standstill agreement, which provided the state all three options, including merger with India or Pakistan or remaining Independent, it was Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah (founder of NC), who opted for Mahatma Gandhi’s democratic India than Pakistan.

He said that the BJP should go to people with its achievements of last five years and respond to people’s questions on employment, poverty and mess in agriculture sector.
