To commemorate huge contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas also known as National Unity Day was celebrated across the Union Territory of J&K.

Jammu and Kashmir Police celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) across Jammu and Kashmir. The main function was held at Armed Police Complex Zewan where DGP J&K, Shri Dilbag Singh who was the Chief Guest on the occasion took the salute of parade which comprised of different contingents of Police & CAPFs.

The ADGP Armed, J&K SJM Gillani administered oath to the officers and Jawans of Police, CAPFs, Forest Protection Force, and Fire & Emergency Services.

Contingents from J&K Armed Police, IRP, SSB, ITBP, CRPF, District Police, J&K Ladies Police, SDRF, Fire and Emergency Services, Forest Protection Force took part in the colourful march past on the tunes of J&K Police Brass Band under the command of Parade Commander CO JKAP 9th Bn Manzoor Ah Dalal,and Dy. Parade Commander SP Surinder Choudhary. The Contingent Commanders which led different contingents were CRPF Assist. Co. Amit Kumar, ITBP Assist. Co. Naz-ud-Din Khan, SSB Assist. Co. Shri Ashok Kumar, JKAP DySP Nissar Hussain, IRP DySP Kulwant Singh, Women Contingent DySP Ms Anubhuti, District Police DySP Manzoor Ahmad, SDRF DySP Manzoor Ahmad, Forest Protection Force AD Manmeet Singh, Brass Band Incharge SI Mushtaq Ahmad, National Flag Party DySP Anzar Shah.

ADGP Armed J&K S. J. M. Gillani, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, officers from CAPFs, Commandments of different units and other senior police officers were present on the occasion.

In Jammu Zone the main function was organised at Gulshan Ground Jammu where ADGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh was the Chief Guest. He inspected the Parade and took the salute of Parade. He administered oath to the officers, officials and contingents of Police and CRPF who presented marchpast on the tunes of J&K Police Pipe Band.

On the occasion ADGP Jammu remembered the services and contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for the unity of the nation.

DIG JSK Range Atul Goel, SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli, SSP PCR Dr Haseeb Mughal, Commandants of Jammu based Armed/IRP battalions, other gazetted officers of Jammu district and officers were present during the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Parade.

Earlier in the morning ADGP Jammu led the pledge ceremony and administered oath to the officers and officials of ZPHQ Jammu.

Meanwhile, the day was celebrated at all district, unit and wing headquarters across Jammu and Kashmir during which the concerned Police heads administered oath to the police officers and Jawans. Police officials were encouraged to work hard with honesty and dedication in the interest of unity and integrity of the Indian Nation.

At Police Headquarters Jammu AIG (Personnel) PHQ Ramesh Angral presided over the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas function and read pledge to the officers and officials of PHQ & APHQ Jammu.

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm at SKPA Udhampur. On this occasion, V.K Jamwal Dy Director (outdoor) SKPA Udhampur on the behalf of Dr. S.D Singh Jamwal Director SKPA Udhampur took salute on the Ekta Diwas Parade and read the pledge which was jointly recited by all trainees, officers and staff.

At Security Hqrs J&K, Sidhara Jammu Dr. S. D. Singh Jamwal, Addl. Director General of Police, Security J&K led the officers and officials in celebrating National Unity Day. On this occasion Ranjit Singh, SSP (Tech), R.P. Singh, (Staff Officer), Ashish Rathore, CPO among other officers/officials of Security Headquarters/Security J&K and Security Transport workshop J&K were also present. All the officers/officials solemnly took the “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” pledge to dedicate themselves to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation.

Kishtwar District Police today celebrated “Rastriya Ekta Dewas” (National Unity Day) at District Police Lines (DPL)Kishtwar. SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Batt took salute on parade and read out the pledge, in which Addl. SP Kishtwar Rajinder Singh & other officers were present.

District Police Doda under the supervision of SSP Doda Mumtaz Ahmed celebrated the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. The main function was held at District Police Line Doda where contingents from CRPF, IRP, SSB and District Police participated in Ekta Diwas Parade. DySP DAR Doda Sh Shokat Ali was the Parade Commander. Addl. SP Bhaderwah Sh Abdul Qayoom was the chief Guest on the occasion and all officer of District Police were present. ASP Bhaderwah administered the pledge to all the officers/officials present on the occasion.

At Reasi the main function was organized in district Police lines Reasi & oath was administered to the troops of Police who dedicated themselves and their services for preserving unity, integrity and security of the nation.

In District Kathua a Pledge taking ceremony was organised at District Police Lines Kathua in which Shri R C Kotwal, SSP Kathua along with other district Police officers/officials paid rich tributes to India’s first Home Minister.

District Police Poonch organized a pledge taking ceremony followed by a marchpast at Sports Stadium Poonch. Inderjeet Deputy Commissioner Poonch along with Vinod Kumar SSP Poonch administered the pledge to the parade contingents. Other officers who were present in the ceremony were Sh Liaqat Choudhary, Addl. SP Poonch, and other gazetted officers and officials.

In District Rajouri the main function was organised at District Police Lines Rajouri, were pledge ceremony and MarchPast of contingents was held.

In Udhampur district Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was celebrated at District Police Lines, SSP Udhampur Sargun Shukla took the salute of the Parade and administered oath to the Police officers and officials.

District Police Samba observed “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” to commemorate the 146th birth anniversary of India’s Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, at District Police Lines, Samba & at other police sub-ordinate units.
The main function was organized at DPL Samba where SSP Samba Rajesh Sharma administered the oath to all the Police Officers/officials present on the occasion to preserve the unity, integrity, sovereignty and security of the Nation.

In Kashmir Zone Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was celebrated across the valley to pay tributes to the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India.

In Central Kashmir Range besides main function at Zewan , District Police Budgam observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas /National Unity Day across the District. The main function was held at DPL Budgam where SSP Budgam Tahir Saleem took the salute of the parade and administered oath to the police officers and jawans.

Similarly in Ganderbal, the main function of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas parade was held at DPL Ganderbal where SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar took the salute of the parade and administered oath to the officers and jawans.

In South Kashmir Range Shopian District the main function was held at DPL Shopian where SSP Shopian Amritpal Singh-IPS took the salute of the parade and administered oath to the police officers and jawans.

In Pulwama, Rastriya Ekta Dewas/National Unity Day was celebrated in all Police establishments of the District. The main function was held at DPL Pulwama in which SSP Pulwama Shri Gh Jeelani Wani took the slaute on Parade and administered the pledge to the Police Officers and J&K Police & CRPF jawans present on the parade.

In Kulgam the main function was held at DPL Kulgam where SSP Kulgam Dr.G.V Sundeep Chakravarthy administered the oath following with an impressive parade. Similarly in Anantnag, the main function of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas/National Unity Day was observed at DPL Anantnag where SSP Anantnag Ashish Kumar Mishra took the salute and administered oath of unity to the police officers and jawans.

In Awantipora, the main function of the Rastriya Ekta Dewas/National Unity Day was held at DPL Awantipora where SSP Awantipora Mohd Yousif took the salute on Parade and read out the pledge during which officers and officials of PD Awantipora were present on parade.

In North Kashmir Range at Kupwara, the main function of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas/National Unity Day was observed at DPL Kupwara where ASP Kupwara Pradeep Singh took the salute and administered oath of unity to the police officers and jawans.

In Bandipora, Pledge ceremony on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Divas/National Unity Day was held at DPL Bandipora. ASP Bandipora Ashiq Hussain Tak took salute on the march past and administered oath to jawans and officers to uphold unity and integrity of the Nation.

In Baramulla, Police celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Divas/National Unity Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallahbhai Patel. The main function was held at DPL Baramulla where ASP Baramulla R K Parihar took salute at the March past and administered oath to all the participants.

In Sopore, Police celebrated Rastriya Ekta Dewas/National Unity Day at all Police establishments in Police District Sopore and the main function was organized at DPL Sopore. The participants took the pledge for unity, integrity and security of the nation as well as dedicating themselves for the unification of the country.

In Handwara, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas/National Unity Day was observed across the Police district. The main function was held at DPL Handwara where SP Handwara Shri Sandeep Gupta took the salute of the parade and administered oath to the police officers and jawans.
