Jammu : After getting Best Performance Award for the year 2021-22 for delivering high standard Passport services to the citizens, Regional Passport Office Jammu is now looking to take the passport services to the next level by reaching out to every section of society across Jammu region.
Rajesh Kumar, Regional Passport Officer while speaking in an Exclusive Interview with JK News Today said “After the Covid pandemic, the demand for passports has increased mani-folds in all the ten districts of Jammu region. We are receiving applications from all corners of Jammu region especially from remote areas of Rajouri and Poonch.”
The passport officer said that we have three passport offices in Kathua, Rajouri and Udhampur districts which are running in collaboration with post offices to provide basic facilities such as file processing, while final clearance is given be giving the Regional Office Jammu after proper verification.”
Speaking about facilities provided to applicants and footfall of applications, the officer said, “In last one year the demand for passports has increased mani-fold and we are making every effort to clear as many files as possible. In an average we are clearing around five thousand passports in one month.”
