Doda, April 4: With the reports of new cases of Covid-19 in the UT of J&K, DC Doda Vishesh Mahajan, called a meeting of all the senior functionaries and discussed the preparedness/ situation of Covid-19 in the District.
DC in his message has asked the people that till date no case in our district has been reported therefore there is no need of worrying but people should remain vigilant and report for test in case of any Flu like symptoms.
It was reported that the district is fully prepared to tackle any untowards situation. The district has achieved more than 100% vaccination against the Coronavirus, and the health institutions have sufficient stock of medicines and equipment to deal with any kind of situation. Adequate RAT kits are available in the health centres across the district, that too, excluding GMC Doda. The Oxygen generation plants at GMC Doda, SDH Bhaderwah, and SDH Gandoh are fully functional. The Health department has 352 B- type and 199 D- type oxygen cylindes, 468 working oxygen concentrators across the district in health institutions, and dedicated 237 concentrators with oxymetres and other equipments in every panchayat of the district. 105 beds are fitted with oxygen supply throughout the district excluding GMC Doda. GMC Doda has dedicated wards, ventilators, equipments and staff to serve the Covid patients.
DC has asked the health department to intensify the testing, especially of those with co- morbidity or old age. He emphasised the use of face masks by the officials while serving the public. Public is also advised to wear face mask in Public places as a precautionary measure to avoid any infection. The Education department has been asked to undergo health checkup of children in the schools. SDMs, SDPOs, Tehsildars, and SHOs have been asked to keep the plan of action ready to be implemented in case of surge in the covid cases.
