Srinagar, September 06: People’s Conference chief Sajad Gani Lone will be contesting Assembly elections from two seats in Kupwara district – Handwara and Kupwara.
This was announced in a list released by the PC on Friday afternoon.
Sajad Lone was elected from Handwara in 2014 when last polls were held in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, now split into two union territories of Ladakh and J&K. He was made a minister in the PDP- BJP coalition government.
Sajad had developed harmonious relations with BJP after meeting PM Narendra Modi that year.
Party’s Senior General Secretary Imran Raza Ansari will contest from his family bastion Pattan.
