Srinagar, March 06: Peoples Conference President and MLA Handwara Sajad Lone has raised serious concerns regarding mining activities in Kupwara District, alleging a troubling disparity in how regulations are enforced.
In a statement posted on X, Lone highlighted operations being conducted by Choudhary Power Projects Pvt. Ltd. (GECPL) in the region, suggesting preferential treatment for corporate interests at the expense of local residents.
“While locals are punished for a tractor load of aggregate or sand — this company has the license to loot and plunder,” Lone stated.
