Recalls role of Late educationist Shri Kuldip Kumar Badyal towards education sector

JAMMU, MAY 14: Minister for Education, Social Welfare, Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo today presided over a grand function held in connection with renaming of Government Boys Higher Secondary School (GBHSS), Gandhi Nagar, Jammu as ‘Shri Kuldip Kumar Badyal Memorial Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar’.
MLA Bahu, Vikram Randhawa; Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Rakesh Minhas; Director School Education Jammu, Naseem Javaid Chowdhary; Director Health Services Jammu Poonam Sethi, family members of late Shri Kuldip Kumar Badyal Ji, faculty members of the institution and large number of students were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister paid glowing tributes to the late educationist and described him as a visionary whose dedication and commitment left an indelible mark on the academic landscape of the region. She said that renaming the institution after Shri Badyal is a befitting tribute to his relentless service and unwavering efforts in shaping the future of countless students.
She added that Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah took the decision of renaming this institution while inaugurating the statue of late Shri Kuldip Kumar Badyal in the institution last year.
The Minister highlighted that educators like Shri Kuldip Kumar Badyal serve as guiding lights for society and continue to inspire generations through their noble work.
She underlined that the government remains committed towards strengthening the education sector and preserving the legacy of individuals who have significantly contributed to social and educational development.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Bahu, Vikram Randhawa and other dignitaries also spoke, recalling the invaluable role played by late Shri Badyal in promoting quality education and mentoring young minds with dedication and compassion.
On the occasion, the Minister also unveiled the newly installed name board of the institution in honour of Late Shri Kuldip Kumar Badyal. She also garlanded the statue of the Late Principal.
