JAMMU, APRIL 24: Secretary, Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, today visited Indira Gandhi Government Dental College and assessed working of all departments of the hospital taking stock of healthcare facilities being made available there to the patients.
The Secretary, on the sidelines of the visit, also chaired a meeting with the administration of IGGDC to review progress on various works being executed on major projects. He issued direction for testing of all mechanical works of the additional block before 4th June 2024 and also issued on spot directions to all the Executing Engineers, present on the site, to complete the pending works at the earliest. He assessed the status of healthcare infrastructure and services at IGGDC Jammu, focusing on patient care, infrastructure, equipment and overall operational efficiency of the hospital.
During the meeting, the Secretary also interacted with the hospital faculty enquiring them about their issues and concerns regarding their services.
Interacting with the doctors and other staff on the occasion, Dr. Abid Rasheed underlined that the goal is to ensure that the healthcare facilities meet the highest standards and should reach to the community in the easiest way. He emphasized upon the doctors to commit themselves towards enhancing the quality of health services in the hospital and called upon the professionals for efficient management of patients, acknowledging their role in providing vital health services to the people of the region.
Secretary conducted extensive round of different wings of the hospital assessing facilities, infrastructure and related utilities there. He also interacted with the patients as well as attendants and took detailed feedback from them about the healthcare facilities being provided in the hospital.
The secretary also took stock of newly installed CBCT in the UT of J&K which will take the patient diagnosis and treatment planning to the next level.
