Srinagar April 22: Ghulam Nabi Shaheen, a senior leader of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference and father of state spokesperson Sara Hayat Shah, passed away today.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Salman Sagar wrote:
“With a heavy heart and immense grief and sadness, I share the news of the passing of Jenab Ghulam Nabi Shaheen—my beloved uncle, senior JKNC leader, former MLC, former Provincial President JKNC Kashmir, and father of state spokesperson Sara Hayat Shah.
The family is currently at the hospital and yet to decide on the timing of the Namaz-e-Janaza. I will share updates shortly.”
In a follow-up post, he confirmed: “The Namaz-e-Janaza of Marhoom Ghulam Nabi Shaheen Sahab will take place after Zuhr prayers at 2:00 PM sharp at their residence in Umarabad Sector B (Peerbagh), Srinagar.”
