Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray Jammu and Kashmir unit has appealed to the government to remove the temporary ban on the registration of Amarnath Yatra and immediately commence the registration process.


In a press conference held at the party’s state office here today, Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit President, Manish Sahni said that the doors of Lord Kedarnath Dham have today opened for the next six months as per tradition following SOPs and as such there should not be any inhibition in conducting the holy Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra following the COVID protocol. He appealed to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, to immediately remove the ban on the registration of the holy Amarnath Yatra pilgrims and begin preparations for the most holy Yatra without any further delay. Sahni said that the holy Amarnath Yatra was scheduled to begin from June 28, for which the online registration process started from April 15.

However, the registration process was temporarily halted on April 21in view of the abrupt surge in Corona cases.There is still a lot of time left for the Amarnath Yatra to begin and board also claims that almost all preparations have been completed.

He said that the opening of Kedarnath pilgrimage having provided a ray of hope to the intending pilgrims of the holy Amarnath Yatra, he is quite sure that the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir who heads the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board will make every effort to restart the holy Amarnath Yatra thus respecting the religious sentiments of the people. On this occasion Women Wing President, Meeinakshi Chhibber and General Secretary Vikas Bakshi was also present.
