NEW DELHI: Indian e-commerce company Snapdeal has announced that it will soon start delivering Reliance Jio SIM cards to customers’ doorsteps. Jio SIM cards delivered by Snapdeal will come bundled with Reliance Jio’s ‘Happy New Year’ offer. So users will be able to enjoy free 4G data, voice calls, text messages and subscription to Jio apps for free till March 31, 2017.

Under the initiative, Snapdeal has sent out emails to customers, giving them an opportunity to get a Jio SIM. The company has tied up with the telco and will be offering the SIM cards free of cost. This means that the company won’t be charging anything from the customer. KYC and activation can be done via Snapdeal itself.

After booking a SIM, customers will have to schedule a time slot for its delivery. After this, the customer will receive a confirmation SMS along with the delivery time and promocode. A Jio representative will also give the same promocode, who will come to deliver the SIM.

Recently, Gurugram-based Snapdeal announced that it will deliver cash to customers right at their doorsteps. The company rolled out a service called ‘Cash@Home,’ that promises users easy access to cash without standing in queues at ATMs or banks.

Snapdeal will charge users Re 1 as ‘convenience fee,’ which they will have to pay via Freecharge or through debit card at the time of placing an order.
A user can request Rs 2,000 per booking and can use any bank’s ATM card to pay for the cash during delivery. Also, customers don’t have to order anything from Snapdeal to avail the ‘Cash@Home’ facility.
At the time of cash delivery, customers just need to swipe their debit card at PoS machines, which Snapdeal’s courier partners will be carrying for all such deliveries. Once the transaction is successful, the courier person will hand over Rs 2,000 in cash.
