Soham kamotra of J and K won Gold Medal in commonwealth chess championship in U-18 age category. The event was held at 5 Star Hotel Citrus waskaduwa at Srilanka.
Prime Minister of Srilanka Mr. Dinesh Gunawaradena was present in the prize distribution function alongwith other dignitaries. Dinner was hosted for winners by Srilankan prime Minister.
He was fully sponsored including 5 Star stay by All India chess federation for this event.
On behalf of All the members of All J&K chess association,Atul Kumar Gupta President All J and K chess association congratulated and fecilitated him on arrival from srilanka . Also present on the occasion were FIDE Arbiter Bindu pathania and his first and basic coach vivek Bharti .
His performance will boost the Moral of other youth of J and K.
It is second International Medal for Soham this year . Earlier he won bronze Medal in Asian U-18 chess championship.He is continuously performing well at International stage. He has already achieved one International Master Norm.
