Sh. Sonam Wangchuk, an engineer, innovator, and education reformist, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Sh. Wangchuk informed Governor about the outcome of his continuing endeavors to reform the education system and bring it in sync with ground realities by pursuing locally relevant knowledge, values and skills and about the to date status of the Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, a skill-based University, which will encourage experiential learning via practical application of knowledge.
Appreciating the innovative approach of Sh. Wangchuk towards education, Governor stressed the need for making education system relevant for providing solutions to the local problems and encouraging youth towards knowledge based constructive contribution to the Society.
