Doda, May 17: In order to review the security apparatus of the District ahead of G-20 Summit, Yatras, festivals and movement of nomads in upper ridges of District Doda, today SSP Doda, Abdul Qayoom, held a crime / Security review meeting at DPO Doda. The meeting was attended by all the supervisory officers /SHOs of the District.
In the meeting all the under investigation cases and other allied matters were discussed and after threadbare discussion in each under investigation case, supervisory officers/SHOs were directed to ensure maximum disposal of the under investigation cases, inquest proceedings, arrest of absconders, tracing out of missing persons etc. In theft cases, the supervisory officers /SHOs were directed to make special efforts for the recovery of stolen property and work out the theft cases on merit. They were also urged upon to follow the under trial NDPS cases in the Court vigorously to ensure conviction in such cases besides working on mission mode basis to tighten the noose of drug peddlers and make the District drug free. It was emphasized upon the supervisory officers /SHOs to constitute special teams for the arrest of absconders besides initiating proceedings for declaring proclamation of the absconders. The supervisory officers /SHOs were also directed to make special efforts and take stringent action under forest act if any theft of forest produce is noticed in their area.
A detailed discussion on the targets assigned by Police Hqrs for the year-2023 was also held in the meeting and SSP Doda, emphasized upon the officers to work on mission mode basis to achieve the targets in the area of investigation, law and order and other fields to reduce the crime pendency with special efforts in the investigation of NDPS, UAPA, other crime of heinous nature and other exercises to be conducted in time bound manner assigned in the targets.
Regarding other police working like disposal of seized property from the Court, special efforts to maintain surveillance on OGWs /suspects, enhancement of CCTV cameras, Regular visits to Educational institutions, efforts to prevent road accidents, record building of OGWs/suspects, special drive against bovine and drug smugglers, checking of beat books by supervisory officers /SHOs, conducting of public outreach programmes, disposal of public complaints, visit to Police Martyrs families and redressal of their grievances, conducting of Mock Drills, LRPs/SRPs and maintaining vigil of highest order in close coordination and liaisoning with Army/PMF for effective surveillance on ground and other allied things were also discussed in the meeting and supervisory officers /SHOs were directed to ensure compliance of the instructions conveyed in the meeting. The officers were also directed to activate their sources, maintain strict vigil to check and destroy the cultivation of opium and cannabis if any such illegal cultivation is noticed besides take stringent action against the cultivators.
Among other officers, Shakeel Rehman Addl. SP headquarters Doda, Kameshwar Puri Addl. SP Bhaderwah, Jaswant Singh, Dy. SP Headquarters Doda, Vaseem Mehmood SDPO Bhaderwah, Adil Hussain, SDPO Gandoh, Susheel Kumar Dy.SP DAR Doda were present in the meeting.
