Jammu, December 21: In order to luxuriate in the festal joie de vivre, St. Mary’s Infant Convent School (SMICS) organized a resplendent Christmas celebration which reverberated the vicinity with choral melodies and wallowed one and all in the Christmas clamor. The celebration engendered not only the opening of benefactions but also the unrolling of hearts to immense messianic delectation.

The event was glorified with the valued presence of Rev. Fr. Shaiju Chacko, Director of Catholic Social Service Society, Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar, Rev. Sr. Anice, Superior of St. Mary’s Presentation Convent School and Rev. Sr. Regi, Principal of St. Mary’s Presentation Convent School, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Mrs. Anna Mary, Chairperson of the school welcomed the luminaries to the commemoration of the birth of the Holy One of Bethlehem.

The welcome address ensued the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and Master Abheet Singh was fondly remembered who left the SMICS family to be with lord. Special prayers were conducted and silence was observed in the memory of the sweet little flower who was nipped in the bud.

As soon as the curtains were raised for the gala performances, infants revelled in the joy of honeyed words and delightfully proclaimed the coming of Jesus through their melodious singing. Students dressed in colourful fineries, painted the school in Christmas hue and brought alive the nativity scene. The adorable lilliputians presented variegated bright and breezy performances. The psychedelic event exuded the true spirit of Christmas.

Subsequently the lilliputians were put on a pedestal by the vedettes with awards and honours for accomplishments galore in both scholastic as well as co-scholastic arenas throughout the year. After honouring the awardees the dignitaries addressed the gathering in which they urged students to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ in their daily lives and adapt his ideals of service, love and compassion. They also lauded the staff and management of the school for avidly spreading Christmas cheer.

The special guests were presented with tokens of appreciation by the Chairperson of the school, Mrs. Anna Mary. The formal vote of thanks was proposed by the Principal, Mrs. Sheetal Anthony who expressed deepest gratitude to the dignitaries for glorifying the event with their valued presence. She also extended warm wishes to the entire state on behalf of the school.

Thereafter, Santa Clause entered the scene, carrying bags full of goodies and the lionized one distributed gifts much to the delight of the infants. After a merry time with the Santa, the curtains were drawn for the day with the moving rendition of the National Anthem and sharing of the Christmas cake amidst heightened jubilation.
