New Delhi , October 21 : Supreme Court on Friday took a serious note of hate speeches and directed Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand governments to act against these elements without waiting for complaints to be filed.
The apex court said that any lethargy on this count could invite contempt of the courts.
The SC said, the “ Constitution of India envisages a secular nation, the Supreme Court Friday directed Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand governments come down hard on hate speeches, promptly registering criminal cases against the culprits without waiting for a complaint to be filed.
