Deputy Commissioner Samba Rohit Khajuria, along with his team visited the industrial area of Bari Brahmana in the wee hours today and inspected a sweet shop partially opened, selling rotten sweets, ice creams and other milk products to locals. The shop was immediately sealed and case under relevant sections of CrPc was registered on the violator.
The inspecting team comprised of Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba, Vikas Gupta, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Vijaypur C P Kotwal and other officers of Revenue and Police were present on the spot.
The Deputy Commissioner said that complaints were received regarding the adulteration, selling of expired items and malpractice being conducted by various sweet shop owners in the district, following which teams of Revenue and Police officers were constituted and directions were issued to nab such violators in the district.
During the inspection, the sweet shop M/s Janta Sweet Shop was found selling expired products including ice creams, fruits drinks, sweets, confections, desserts and other milk products were in rotten condition in the shop. Sub Divisional Magistrate, Vijaypur has been directed to seal the sweet shop and lodge FIR against violator under relevant sections.
Deputy Commissioner has issued strict advisory to all the sweet shop owners in the district to properly dispose off their outdated product while maintaining proper hygienic conditions around the shop is also mandatory. He also directed the surveillance teams constituted in the district under direct supervision of Sub Divisional Magistrates to submit weekly action taken report in his office.
