SUCHETGARH, July 10: Taranjit Singh Tony, Chairman of AAP J&K for Administrative Engagement and Minority Affairs, and Member DDC Suchetgarh on Monday sought immediate termination of Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma, Principal Govt Medical College Jammu for her alleged involvement in Crime Branch case for forging her date of birth and consequently the rejection of her bail application by the Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu while asking the administration to depute the deserving and honest principal to run the affairs of aforesaid prestigious institution.
Addressing a meeting at Suchetgarh, the senior AAP leader said that after the rejection of bail application, the case of Principal GMC Jammu is fit for termination as already people have suffered much due to unprincipled principal sitting at the coveted post since long. He said that earlier when the probing agency questioned Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma regarding her date of birth, she simply refuted that the allegations are baseless. “The investigation agency later recovered the record from her house as she had concealed the same there after taking it from her office”, he added.
He said that rules also suggest that if the official remains in lock-up there are provisions for suspension and therefore the government should fulfill its bounded duty to off roster the ‘tainted’ principal and provide the responsibility to some accountable personality, who is deserving, qualified and above all sincere to his or her duty.
He said that Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Tahir Khurshid Raina has rejected the bail application of Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma, in the Crime Branch case of forging her date of birth today. Now it becomes all together urgent to appoint the new Principal GMC Jammu without any further delay, he added.
The senior AAP leader demanded termination of the aforesaid Principal of GMC with immediate effect to ensure that work of GMC Jammu should not get affected and the prestigious healthcare institution continues to work for the ailing of the UT. He appealed to the administration to depute deserving Principal to run the affairs of aforesaid prestigious institution.
