Div Com directs Floriculture & Tourism Deptt officials to ensure that state of art facilities are in place on priority

Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer, on Saturday conducted on the spot inspection of the ongoing developmental works in Bagh-e Bahu Park.
He was accompanied by Director Floriculture Jammu, Jatinder Singh; Assistant Director Tourism, DMO Jammu besides Executive Engineers of PHE, JPDCL and other concerned officers.
The Div Com inspected the progress on the prestigious “Musical Water Fountain with Light & Sound Show” project taken up under PMDP.
The tourism officers apprised the Div Com about the status of work on the project.
The Executive Engineer JPDCL assured that the installation of transformer HTAVR 1250 KVA required for the project will be commissioned by June 30, 2021. The extension of the view cutter on the backside of the musical fountain cable is required to be installed, which would be done in a few days, he added.
The Assistant Director Tourism apprised the Div Com that the expert engineers from Germany will visit the site for programming of the Musical fountain, for which the matter has already been taken up with the higher authorities.
He went around each and every area of the parks and instructed the concerned for further improvements wherever required.
The Div Com was apprised about the works being undertaken under Languishing category in Bagh-e-Bahu Garden, like vertical garden, view points, improvement of water channel and installation of fountains, solar substations, retaining walls, grill fencing, up-gradation of entry gate, children corners and other allied works.
The Div Com took strong note of delayed works and observed that the deadline for the completion of works has already lapsed.
He strongly directed the executing agencies and contractors to complete the remaining works in three months so that the new facilities in the park are dedicated to the public at the earliest.
He also instructed the District Mineral Officer to provide adequate construction material for smooth execution of work on the prestigious project.
The Div Com directed the Floriculture department to issue penalty notices to contractors for liquidating damages, and pre termination notice, if required.
He directed the concerned officers to make sure that all facilities are provided to the visitors besides working towards increasing the footfall to the parks. He said that the musical fountain will be a huge attraction for the visitors.
The Div Com directed the concerned officers to work with utmost dedication to ensure that the ongoing up-gradation work is completed at the earliest and ensure that visitors and pilgrims are provided with high-end facilities during their visits to the Park.
He also directed the concerned officers to ensure functioning of existing fountains which are lying dysfunctional in the park. Jal Shakti Department was instructed to provide water supply for the fountains and also expedite the work on dedicated sources of water for fountains in Bagh e Bahu.
