Jammu, August 16: At last, the Election Commission of India has announced Assembly elections for Jammu and Kashmir on Friday ending a suspense of years over this democratic exercise . The last polls were held in 2014

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar The polls will be held in three phases – September 18, .

25 and October 1 . The counting will be held.

Seven districts of Kishtwar , Ramban, Doda , Anantnag , Pulwama , Shopian and Kulgam will go to polls in first phase on September 18.

In second phase on September 25 , six districts of Ganderbal , Srinagar, Budgam , Poonch , Rajouri and Reasi will go to polls.

In third phase on October 1 , seven districts will go to polls. They are Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur , Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipore .
