Calls for a decisive battle against BJP’s unfulfilled promises

JAMMU: Taranjit Singh Tony was accorded a rousing reception by a gathering of Panchs, Sarpanchs and workers of Congress Party upon his arrival in Jammu this evening, marking his affiliation with the nation’s oldest political party.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Tony attributed his decision to join the party to the inspiring impact of Bharat Jodo Yatra initiated by Rahul Gandhi and the resolute efforts of the newly elected president of Jammu and Kashmir State, Vikar Rasool Wani, and J&K State Prabhari and Rajya Sabha Member, Rajni Patil.
Taranjit Singh Tony highlighted the high standards of welcome extended to him during his induction ceremony in New Delhi, which saw the presence of prominent figures including the Congress Chief, Mallikarjun Kharge, General Secretary, K.C Venugopal. Among the distinguished personalities were Rajni Patil, Manoj Yadav, Vikar Rasool Wani, Raman Bhalla, GA Mir, and Tariq Hameed Karra, all of whom played significant roles in welcoming Tony into the party fold.
Addressing the party workers in Jammu, Tony emphasized the importance of upholding the Congress Party’s people-friendly policies and spreading the message of communal harmony and brotherhood at the grassroots level. He underlined the party’s commitment to serving the interests of the people and contributing to the betterment of society.
Tony asked the party cadre to initiate a resolute campaign against the BJP, highlighting its substantial failure in meeting the public’s expectations. He called for a widespread grassroots effort, emphasizing the need to engage with every household, enlightening them about the BJP’s unfulfilled promises and shortcomings since the 2014 and 2019 elections.
Tony emphasized that the moment has arrived to deliver a fitting response to the BJP’s inadequacies, in the ensuing polls in Jammu and Kashmir.
