Doda, September 23:
A joint delegation of daily wagers, need base workers and casual labourers today started their foot March towards summer capital Srinagar from Doda.
They were raising slogans against government for not implementing the regularisation policy to adjust them at their respective place of postings in different departments.
These workers had started their March on the call given by All Jammu and Kashmir daily wagers’ association president Tanveer Hussain.
Hussain was detained by Jammu police last night to stop them from heading towards Srinagar.
These people are working in different departments for over two decades and don’t get regular honorarium from government. They have been demanding to regularise their services but to no avail so far. There are approximately over 63000 such people working as casual labourers and daily wagers in different government departments.
