Udhampur Nov 1: A large number of people under the banner of Civil Society Udhampur today held a meeting here to pay rich tributes to the Kishtwar Martyrs Anil Parihar and his brother Ajit Parihar on to their 5th Martyrdom Day.
In the meeting civil society members paid rich floral tributes to the Parihar brothers and who attained Martyrdom in Kishtwar five years back on Nov 01 2018 .
Lauding Parihar brothers courageous role ever since 1990’s in raising voice against militancy and preventing migration of minorities, and their work to strengthen democratic institution in the area speakers said that they symbolized a crusade and a cause which has gained further momentum with their killing.
Speaking on the occasion, Civil Society member Ranjit parihar demanded that government infrastructure such as school , colleges. Roads ,hospital and buildings should be named after civilian martyrs like forces and also demanded that a memorial should be built by goverment in the memory of martyrs and innocent people killed during the Pakistan-sponsored terrorism era in the district and State level to recognise their Martyrdom.

Others who spoke said that memorial would serve as a source of inspiration for the future generations and strengthen the unity and integrity of India, besides being part of the history. They further added that the names and photos of all killed in the said period of terrorism should form a part of this memorial.
