JAMMU, Nov 29: Yuvraj Vikramaditya Singh, former Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) and scion of the erstwhile Dogra Royal Family of Jammu & Kashmir has been formally appointed as a Patron-Member of the Governing Council of Mayo College, Ajmer, Rajasthan. The erstwhile Dogra Royal Family over generations has upheld a legacy of contributing to the growth in education, heritage, socio-cultural development and public service of the nation.

Vikramaditya Singh after attending the Board Meeting of the General Council, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Mayo College General Council and said, “It is an honour and privilege to serve and be associated with one of the most renowned and prestigious educational institutions in the country. I look forward to working with the Mayo College General Council to uphold, develop and promote the values and traditions that make Mayo College a premier institution and a beacon of learning.”

Vikramaditya further said, “It is a matter of great pride to continue my family legacy and association with Mayo College which began in the late 19th century when Kashmir House was setup at the campus for Maharaja Hari Singh Ji who completed his early education at Mayo College in 1908.”

Mayo College, established in 1875, is among India’s most celebrated and prestigious educational institutions, known for its contribution to holistic education, nation-building and holds a proud legacy of excellence in academics, sports, and leadership development. The Mayo College General Council is led by Maharaja Gaj Singh of Jodhpur, President MCGC and Maharaja Brijraj Singh of Kishangarh, Vice-President MCGC.
