United Nations Volunteers (UNV) India conducted a webinar on “How to Win Over Stress in the New Normal”. From Jammu the online event was attended by Dr. Satwant Singh Rissam, a noted columnist and heritage conservationist. The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) is administered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and reports to the UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS Executive Board. The UNV programme contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. The webinar focused on mitigating stress & anxiety as the whole world is navigating through different stages of the pandemic. And post the heightened phase of Covid-19 the people are dealing with a new kind of stress & anxiety considering the forthcoming 3rd wave of the pandemic. Apart from it focus was laid on effects of hybrid models of education & work and how to build a lifestyle that consists of mental and physical stability.

Priya Bhattacharya, Management Associate at United Nations Volunteers India conducted the proceedings of the webinar and congratulated all the participants for becoming part of this initiative. The resource person for the webinar was Dr. Upasana Chaddha Vij, Counseling Psychologist & Director of Mindscape Counseling Centre, having more than a decade of experience in coaching, counseling, mentoring and academic experience. In her presentation, she focused on anxiety which students and professionals are facing for a year and how we can adjust to it without stress & anxiety. She also talked about people who suffer from anxiety, low self esteem in old age, relationship issues and complex trauma in modern day life. Moreover, all the participants who attended the webinar expressed that it was an extremely useful session and they would get benefitted with such introspective and interactive activities.
