Jammu, September 27: Amid of global challenging factors like, slow world economic growth and   changing global business environment where people are talking about IT slump, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University opens its Campus-2017 Recruitment programme with Wipro as first company, whichy has recruited 33 engineering students.

A team of Technical and HR Panelists headed by Rajeev Kumar, General Manager & Global Head-TA from Wipro conducted the Campus Drive for 2017 passing out students on September 25-26. Only Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra and Government College of Engineering & Technology (GCET), Jammu were selected for Campus Placements by Wipro Ltd. in which 141 students appeared from both the institutions. After passing through a rigorous campus selection process consisting of Online Test, Written Communication Test, Technical Interview and HR Interview 33 students from SMVDU Katra and 08 students from GCET Jammu were declared finally selected by the Wipro Recruitment Team.

General Manager Wipro also met Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU to understand and deliberate on challenges for and expectations from technical institutions. Dr. Jain and Rajeev both discussed & agreed upon various strategies and   initiatives required to be taken in the current scenario of automation, digitization and low economic growth for providing better employment opportunities to the students.

Sanjeev Kumar Jain, Vice Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University congratulated all Wipro final selects and advised them to be sincere, hardworking and honest to their work after joining. He also asked the students to stay at least 3 to 5 years with the company so that they get specialization in their field which will also be helpful for their juniors in the university.
