India continued to register a higher number of Covid-19 infection cases as it logged 96,424 new cases on Friday. The total number of cases in the country is above 5.21 million now, according to the number published on the union health ministry’s website on Friday.

In the United States, the infection increased by 0.7% as compared with the same time Thursday to 6.7 million, Bloomberg reported citing data collected by Johns Hopkins University. The increase compares with an average daily increase of 0.6% over the past week. Deaths reached 198,114.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump said his administration expects to have enough vaccines for every American by April.

Several countries in Europe are reeling under another wave of Covid-19. France, which had successfully controlled the virus earlier this year, registered more than 13,000 new cases in a day. Its highest number of infections since a national lockdown ended in May.

Britain Prime Minister Boris Johnson also hinted at imposing tougher social distancing measures as he said that the UK is experiencing start of the second wave of Covid-19.
