Every life lost is cause of concern for us: DGP J&K

Says perpetrators of the criminal act would be brought to justice soon.

To pay homage to the martyr SI Arshid Ahmad Mir who attained martyrdom in a terror attack at Khanyar, Srinagar, a wreath laying ceremony for the martyr was held at District Police Lines Srinagar.

DGP J&K Dilbag Singh led the senior officers of police/ paramilitary forces, civil administration and relatives of martyrs in paying rich tributes to the martyr. Floral wreaths were laid on the mortal remains for their supreme sacrifice made in the line of duty.

Spl. DG CID J&K R. R Swain, Spl. DG Crime J&K A. K Choudhary, ADGsP, J&K, S. J. M. Gillani, A. G Mir, Div Com Kashmir, P.K Pole, DIG Central Kashmir Amit Kumar,DIG CRPF RK Rana,DIG SSB Ranjit Singh, DC Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz,SSP Srinagar and other senior officers of J&K police, CAPF and civil administration, parents and close relatives of the martyr were present at the wreath laying ceremony.

On the side lines of the wreath laying ceremony, the DGP, J&K while speaking to the media said that the SI Arshad Ahmad was a brave and young officer who was at the threshold of the service and was deployed for medical checkup of an accused to a hospital and on his return he was attacked by the terrorists, leaving him critically injured. Immediately he was shifted to the Hospital were he breathed his last. Considering the martyrdom of the Arshid Ahmad a tragic loss for JK police, the DGP extended his condolence to the bereaved family.

The DGP said that every life lost is cause of concern for us and added that terrorists involved in the attack have been identified and follow up operation has been launched adding that perpetrators of the criminal act would be brought to justice soon.

As has been reported that Arshid Ahmad Mir, Probationer Sub- Inspector was critically injured in a cowardly attack of terrorists at Khanyar in Srinagar. He was shifted to Hospital where he left for heavenly abode.
