Jammu, July 7: Chairman Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal along with former MLC, Vikram Randhawa today jointly flagged off week long 12th Annual Chitto Mata Charri Yatra from Jammu to Padder in Kishtwar district.
Led by Nitish Gupta, hundreds of pilgrims including women and youth hailing from city and peripheral areas assembled at Rani Talab Digiana here today early morning and marched in procession with flags in their hands, dancing on the tunes of drumbeats and enchanting Bhaints of Goddess.
While flagging off Charri Yatra of Chitto Mata, Team Jammu Chief, Zorawar Singh Jamwal wished safe journey to the pilgrims and highlighted the need of such annual pilgrimages that inculcate a sense of spiritualism in the society. He also prayed for peace and prosperity of the state besides giving strength to the Army Jawans and para-military forces in neutralizing anti-national elements as well as befitting reply to the enemies who are acting as stumbling blocks in state and nation’s growth.
“People especially youth must come forward and contribute in such functions that also helps in developing nationalism in them. Nation today requires youth participation to further grow and finally lead the world in all sectors,” said Zorawar Singh Jamwal and added “Jammu region is a host to number of such annual pilgrimages including Shri Amarnath and Mata Vaishno Devi and it is the duty of all Jammuites to welcome and take care of the guests coming from rest of India.”
Former, MLC and senior BJP leader, Vikram Randhawa complimented the people on the auspicious occasion and prayed for communal harmony, peace and prosperity in the state. He said that Chitto Mata holy shrine is bestowed with serenity and one could experience the spiritual manifestation at the sanctum sanctorum itself. He further hoped that annual yatra would touch new heights in future and destination would be emerged as one of the famous pilgrim destination in the tourist map of India.
