Senior BJP leader and MLC  Ramesh Arora  while speaking on the Kashmir unrest justified the use of pellet guns and force against the stone throwing attackers  of the security forces’ camps. He was speaking in the Legislative Council on Tuesday .

In a passionate speech , the BJP leader regretted the deterioration of politics in which national anthem  was disrespected by the opposition lawmakers   during Governor’s address to the joint session of the two houses on Monday . “ This is unfortunate and particularly so , when Congress leaders  joined such noisy scenes at the  time when the national anthem was being played out.”

Referring to the Kashmir unrest of the past over  five months in which nearly 100 people, some innocents among them, were killed ,  Arora  questioned : “ when  the security forces are attacked by mobs , how could  they  remain calm. They  couldn’t have allowed their self-annihilation.”

“ In such circumstances, the retaliation was mandatory on their part as self defense measure. This part cannot be disputed,” Arora said.

He regretted the “ death of some of the innocents,” but wondered, why there was  no mention of the  policemen who were killed or those  security personnel who were killed by  militants.
