Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer has directed all district magistrates to constitute BLO area wise field teams to conduct an extensive house to house mopping up exercise to track Corona patients.


The decision has been taken in view of many instances of late reporting by patients to the COVID hospitals and even certain deaths been reported from homes.

The field teams shall essentially be constituted by local Patwari/revenue official, BLO of the area, beat Constable, and ANM/ASHA/MPHW of the health Dept. Support staff shall be drawn from education Dept/local Anganwari worker etc.

Each team shall have an area of 200-250 households to survey.

DM’s have been directed to seek help from local councilors/PRI members in this verification.

The whole field exercise shall be completed from 11th May to 13th May.

The teams shall do general enquiry of the health status of inmates, review of parameters of Covid positive/Covid suspect persons in the household.

Moderately to severely symptomatic persons shall be referred to the triage facility for screening and follow up.

The mildly symptomatic patients who are elderly/co-morbid/unable to self isolate etc shall be encouraged to get themselves admitted in the Covid care centres being operationalised by the Govt wherein they could be closely monitored and timely referred to hospitals as & when needed.

The teams shall also handover IEC pamphlets to the households including list of relevant contact nos of Divisional & District Control Rooms and imp COVID management related information.
Covid care kits containing all essential items shall be distributed to home isolated persons.

Importance of Post verification follow up and telephonic engagement with the affected families through control rooms/call centres has also been highlighted by the Divisional Administration.
