Jammu, 10 July 2026 : In a move aimed at improving tourism services and strengthening regulation of the hospitality sector, the Ladakh Administration has launched an online registration and renewal process for tourism establishments operating in Zanskar. The initiative is expected to simplify applications while ensuring that all tourism units comply with official norms. The online process covers hotels, guest houses, resorts, camp hotels, homestays, travel agencies, adventure tour operators and motorcycle tour operators. Both new applicants and existing operators seeking renewal have been asked to submit their applications through the official tourism portal.

Applicants must upload the required documents based on the category of their establishment. These include identity proof, ownership or lease documents, trade licence, occupancy certificate, GST registration and other mandatory clearances, wherever applicable. The administration has also notified separate registration fees for different categories of tourism units. Homestays will be charged ₹500, while the fee for hotels, travel agencies and other establishments will depend on their category and capacity. After completing the online application, applicants must submit a signed hard copy along with self-attested documents to the Office of the Tourist Officer at Padum. Officials may also conduct site inspections before granting approval.

Applications will be approved only after document verification, payment of the prescribed fee, field inspection wherever required and clearance from the competent authority. Online submission alone will not result in registration. The Tourism Department has urged all eligible tourism operators in Zanskar to complete the process at the earliest, saying timely registration will help improve transparency and maintain service standards.
