Pakistan is continuing with its bad habit of interfering in the internal affairs of India , particularly with regard to Jammu and Kashmir without realizing that it has no locus standi in any of the affairs.
It has come out with a new methodology of rejecting everything that India does in its integral part , Jammu and Kashmir. It has now taken on the domicile policy and charged that it is to change the demographic character of J&K . It has not read nor it wants to read the constitutional correctness in the matter .
The Indian government has given access to all the eligible citizens who fulfill the criteria of stay in J&K for a period of at least 15 years , to secure the domicile certificate to share jobs . It is a constitutionally validated move as the J&K reoorganisation Act was passed by the parliament that replaced the unfair constitutional provisions of Article 370 and Article 35 A . Those constitutional provisions were discriminatory as those differentiated between the citizens of India and those living in J&K with permanent resident certificate. Now, that anomaly has been eliminated and all Indian citizens are equal in the other parts of the county as also Jammu and Kashmir that is an integral part of the country.
Pakistan Foreign office spokesperson Aisha Farooqi in a statement on Saturday, as quoted by Pakistani media, said: “The certificates issued to non-Kashmiris including, among others, the Indian government officials under “Jammu and Kashmir Grant of Domicile Certificate (Procedure), 2020″ are illegal, void and in complete violation of the relevant United Nations Security Council Resolutions, and International law including the 4th Geneva Convention.”
It has aligned the move of the Government of India to undo injustice with the people who had been living in J&K for over decades without citizenship rights, as “illegal” and in violation of the UN resolutions on Kashmir. Only the state subjects or permanent resident certificate holders were having all the rights in J&K until the constitutional provisions of Article 370 and Article 35 A which were scrapped by the Indian Parliament with an overwhelming majority in its both houses on August 5-6 last year.
